Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:7-12 that when Christ ascended He gave "Gifts unto men". These gifts are people who carry a grace, which is Christ, to minister to the Church. Ephesians 4:8 says, "He Himself gave SOME TO BE apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers..." These men and/or women are not to be exalted and these "five-fold" ministry gifts are not to be aspired to. On the contrary, we simply recognize the gift of Christ among us and desire to be equipped by the ministry of Christ, which is His "five-fold" Gifts to the Church.
